Academics

Academic and Career Advisors help students discover new things about themselves such as personal, educational, and career goals. Advisors use various assessment tools to help students explore their values, interests, personality, and skills. Results from these assessments are discussed with students and used in the decision-making process about their major and possible career options.

Tests Offered:

  • Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) – MBTI is a test used to measure the psychological type of a person. Using this test, students are able to relate their personality profiles to groups of people who work in specific occupations.
  • Self-Directed Search (SDS) – The SDS identifies a person’s particular activities, competencies, and self-assessment and compares them with certain occupational groups. This test can be beneficial because the results are actually recorded by the student, and reflects their personal interests and capabilities.
