Overview

Our Linguistics programs are unique in that all students and faculty share an abiding interest in the study of American Sign Language (ASL). The ongoing, innovative research carried out by the linguistics faculty and graduate students contributes substantially to what is known about the structure and use of sign languages. Our programs cover more than just ASL—students are provided with a solid grounding in linguistic theory and similar applied areas. Students involved in linguistics programs are well trained and educated to excel in professional and academic career paths.
