Student Grievance

The purpose of the grievance procedures is to provide a process for an impartial review of student-initiated concerns and to ensure that the rights of the university students are properly recognized and protected.

A grievable action is in violation of written campus policies or procedures or constitutes misapplication or misinterpretation of University policies, regulations, rules, or procedures. Grievance may not be used to challenge policies or procedures of a general applicability.

If you have a grievable action against the University, division, department, unit, organization and/or individual, please submit a report.

Behavioral Intervention Team

Behavioral Intervention Teams (BIT) promotes a healthy and safe environment by facilitating collaboration across campus units by assessing reports of concerning behaviors to determine appropriate intervention and support.

If you have concerns that includes but are not limited to individual’s concerning behavior, threats to self or others, or other related concerning behavior, please submit a report.

Bias, Harassment, and/or Discrimination Report

The University prohibits discrimination and harassment and provides equal opportunities for all community members and applicants regardless of their race, color, religious creed, national origin, ancestry, sex, sexual orientation, veteran status, marital status, age, disability, and medical conditions.

If you witnessed or were a target of a bias incident, please submit a report to make the University aware of the incidents.

If the person you need to submit a report on is a faculty, staff, or community members, please use this report. The report will go to Jesus Remigio, Director of Equal Opportunities Program (EOP).

If the person you need to submit a report on is a student, please use this report. The report will go to Amy Rousseau, Director of Student Accountability and Restorative Practices (SARP)

Title IX/Sexual Harassment and Sexual Misconduct

Gallaudet is committed to fostering a safe and welcoming campus free from sexual harassment, sexual violence, and gender discrimination. The university encourages community members to report any acts of sexual harassment or sexual misconduct.

If you experienced or witnessed an act of sexual harassment or sexual misconduct, please submit a report.

Access Restriction Appeal (nonstudents)

This is for nonstudents who were placed on Campus Access Restriction (CAR) by the Department of Public Safety (DPS). If you would like to appeal your access restriction or to request access restriction to be removed so that you can enter Gallaudet University campus premises, please submit a report.
