Student Activity Fee

  • The Student Activities Fee is used to support co-curricular and non-academic student activities (including student governance), programs, services, and projects throughout the year designed to enhance the overall student experience for all students regardless of student status (in-person, hybrid, or online). This fee will be charged every academic period the student is enrolled in and registered at Gallaudet University and is not based on the actual usage or participation of individual students in student activities, programs, services, and projects.

Technology Fee

  • The Technology Fee is charged to every current and active student each academic period and is used for the provision of technology platforms, services, and equipment for use by a student at Gallaudet University. This fee will be charged every academic period the student is enrolled in and registered at Gallaudet University.

Health Services Fee

The Student Health Service fee provides funding for delivering health services in ASL by Student Health Service (SHS).

SHS staff includes a board-certified M.D., nurse practitioners, and registered nurses. It also provides funding for programming efforts that include support for health promotion and mental health.

  • The health fee provides students unlimited access to SHS, which offers acute and primary care services that include but are not limited to, sick visits, STI screening, pregnancy tests, gynecological examinations, gender-affirming care, and physical exams.
  • SHS provides a limited supply of Over-the-Counter (OTC) medications to students to help with symptoms, such as cough medicines, stomach issues, and more.
  • Healthcare navigation – if a student is referred to a specialist, SHS assists students in scheduling and navigating the appointment and coordination of care.

SHS collaborates with Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), the Health and Wellness Program (HWP), and other campus organizations and departments to offer students comprehensive and holistic well-being.

*All students are encouraged to carry their own health insurance when attending school on campus. All full-time undergraduates, graduates, and English Language Institute students are required to either opt- into the Gallaudet Student Health Insurance Plan or waive the health insurance requirement by completing the waiver on the Gallaudet health insurance vendor portal.
