The Institutional Effectiveness and Certification office helps Gallaudet University stay compliant with accreditation, certification, and licensure requirements. We’re also the go-to source for accurate data and reporting on a range of initiatives and goals, and play a vital role in helping the university operate effectively.
Initiatives
Serving a multicultural, bilingual academic environment, we work to ensure the rigor and excellence commensurate with Gallaudet’s reputation by:
- Promoting a culture of critical inquiry and evidence-based decision-making.
- Engaging students, faculty, staff, and administrators in conversations about learning inside and outside the classroom.
- Providing leadership and coordination in assessment.
- Ensuring excellence in academic instruction, student academic support, student development, and student services.
- Coordinating the collection, analysis, sharing, and use of assessment data.
- Producing evidence of student learning outcomes necessary for accrediting agencies.
- Monitoring equity in access to the curriculum for all Gallaudet students.
- Bringing best practices and methods of assessment to the Gallaudet community.
- Offering professional development opportunities for faculty and staff.
