Summer Housing

We invite students taking summer sessions courses, internships, or working to stay in our summer housing on campus. Students receive a twin-XL sized bed, mattress, dresser, desk and chair. Laundry and vending services are located within each residence hall. 

To apply for summer housing, complete the Summer Housing Application then a confirmation email will be sent to you once you have been assigned summer housing. Summer housing dates are May 12-August 24, 2024.

NOTE: We will not be able to accommodate non-Gallaudet students who are interning in DMV area.

Summer Housing Rates

Room Charges
Summer housing charges will be billed to your student account. If you need to change the dates of your arrival and/or departure, approvals must be received by Residence Life and Housing at a minimum of one (1) week in advance.

Lost or Stolen Keys
A lock change fee of $50.00 will be added to your student account if your key was lost or stolen.

Linen Fee
We do provide a set of linens that includes one blanket, one pillow and pillowcase, one fitted sheet, one flat sheet, and one large bath towel, that can be requested for an one-time fee of $20.00 which will be charged to your student account. 

Meal Plans

• Summer Meal Plan
  If you as a student will be taking classes during the summer, you are required to have a meal plan. You can choose your summer meal plan in BISON under your tasks. 
  
  
• Board Waiver
  Students living on campus with a documented food-related medical condition that cannot be reasonable accommodated through the campus food service provider may apply for a board waiver. 

Kitchen Access
Approved users will be charged a fee of $9.50 per week or $150.00 for the summer which will be billed to your student account. 

Assistance Animals
While your Service Animal or Emotional Support Animal have been approved, Gallaudet University has its own approval process too. Service Animals and Emotional Support Animals must be approved by the Assistance Animal Team prior to being on campus. The request must be submitted no later than 30 days prior to the planned date of arrival to the Assistance Animal Team for approval.
