We invite students taking summer sessions courses, internships, or working to stay in our summer housing on campus. Students receive a twin-XL sized bed, mattress, dresser, desk and chair. Laundry and vending services are located within each residence hall.
Before applying for summer housing, you must meet the following requirements:
When you meet the requirements, you can go to the Housing Portal to complete the Summer Housing Application. A confirmation email will be sent to you once you have been assigned summer housing. Summer housing dates are May 10-August 23, 2025.
NOTE for Summer Interns: We will not be able to accommodate non-Gallaudet students who are interning in DMV area (outside of Gallaudet).
Non-Summer Students and Interns: If you’re not taking summer classes or if you’re a non-Gallaudet student interning in the DMV area but plan to stay on the Gallaudet campus during the summer, you will not be eligible for financial aid under any circumstances. Please plan accordingly to ensure your finances are covered.
All Students (Including Those Mentioned Above, as well as Gallaudet Students Taking Summer Classes and Residing on Campus): If you are returning for the fall semester, please make sure your balance is under $3,000 by the end of summer. This way, you can stay on track without the risk of having your classes dropped or facing other financial setbacks.
Room ChargesSummer housing charges will be billed to your student account. If you need to change the dates of your arrival and/or departure, approvals must be received by Residence Life and Housing at a minimum of one (1) week in advance.
Lost or Stolen KeysA lock change fee of $50.00 will be added to your student account if your key was lost or stolen.
Linen FeeWe do provide a set of linens that includes one blanket, one pillow and pillowcase, one fitted sheet, one flat sheet, and one large bath towel, that can be requested for an one-time fee of $20.00 which will be charged to your student account.
Meal PlansIf you are staying on campus during the summer, you are required to have a meal plan. Please visit the Summer Meal Plan page for more information.
Kitchen AccessStudents living on campus with a documented food-related medical condition that cannot be reasonable accommodated through the campus food service provider may apply for a meal waiver via Workday. Approved users will be charged a fee of $9.50 per week or $150.00 for the summer which will be billed to your student account.
Housing AccommodationsIf you require certain housing accommodations due to medical and/or health needs, submit your request via Workday.
Assistance AnimalsService Animals and Emotional Support Animals must be approved by the Assistance Animal Team prior to being on campus. To request for approval, submit your request via Workday. The request must be submitted no later than 30 days prior to the planned date of arrival to the Assistance Animal Team for approval.

Residence Life and Housing reserve the right to relocate you to another room or residence hall as needed. Daily rate charges will still apply if you are not physically in your room andd left your belongings behind.
