Apply to the Honors Program

New to Gallaudet? When you apply to Gallaudet, Admissions will identify qualifying students for the Honors program. Look for an invitation to the Program or interview. Interviews will be conducted text and video chat. To express interest in the Honors program directly, fill out the form below. If you are applying for a scholarship, please refer to your admissions letter and the merit-based scholarship website for information on deadlines, G.P.A. requirements, and minimum test scores.

Current Gallaudet Students

Current Gallaudet University students are also invited to join Honors. Current students should have an excellent transcript, a record of academic or professional accomplishment, and a desire to complete the Honors Capstone. Application Process for Current Students We’re aware that some students find themselves quickly at Gallaudet and have access to resources and support that you’ve never had before that boost your academic achievement.  We do have a way to enter the Honors Program after you’ve begun your Gallaudet journey.  We do require that you have a minimum of 5 semesters remaining at Gallaudet to ensure you can complete the curriculum requirements and Honors Capstone courses. You will need to meet the following criteria to qualify to enter the Honors Program:

• GPA of 3.4 or higher at Gallaudet University
• Freshman or sophomore standing (with at least five semesters remaining until graduation)
• Two letters of recommendation from professors at Gallaudet
• An essay of why you are looking to join Honors, how you hope Honors can advance your goals after graduation, and some early thoughts you have about possible capstone topics
• Interview with the Honors Director
