Ko Nam Art Exhibit at Washburn Arts Center

Ko Nam, a deaf painter from Hong Kong, has a “must-see” exhibition in the Linda K. Jordan Gallery at the Washburn Arts Center through November 10, open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

According to his website, “Ko Nam was born in 1963 in Chengdu, China. He studied painting under several well-known Chinese artists including Cen Xuegong, Luo Cibing, and Mou Kanghua. He migrated to Hong Kong in early 1994. 

“Ko Nam has been passionate about painting since his childhood. Motivated by a deep love of life and nature, his footprints have spread many places around the world. In his career, he has maintained his focus on sketching from nature, and takes as his themes the rivers, mountains, snow fields, prairies and mountain villages, and national customs. His paintings are characterized with realistic painting style, rhythmic vitality, rigorous and refined composition, and strong literary atmosphere. 

In recent years, Ko’s works have been seen in various domestic and international art exhibitions and won awards in those events. He has organized exhibitions for his own works for many times, and many of them have been published. His works have been highly praised by both those who are experts in the field and those who are not, and have been highly recognized in the market.”
