Gallaudet University is private property and a popular media destination. Our 99-acre campus includes late 1800s-era buildings in the National Register of Historic Places as well as modern buildings designed with DeafSpace principles. Filming on our campus is welcome but requires prior permission from University Communications.
News MediaContact us for permission to film on campus. This applies to both exterior and interior spaces. We assist with shooting video on campus as needed, including setting up locations, scheduling interviews, and arranging American Sign Language interpreters. In addition, filming during class must be authorized by the instructor.
Please contact Gallaudet Athletics directly if your request is related to athletics, including events, venues, and our student-athletes.
All Other FilmingAdvertising and commercial filming on campus requires a signed location agreement with us and may involve access fees. Please fill out our online form below.
Coordination with other Gallaudet offices may be required by the location agreement, with potential fees for campus escorts, parking permits, and other services. A Certificate of Insurance for at least US $1,000,000 with Gallaudet named as an additional insured is required for any facility rental.
All requests will receive a timely response. University Communications reserves the right to decline any request.
