Gallaudet, Clerc Center alumni to perform...
Gallaudet and Clerc Center will be well-represented at Super Bowl LVII! Alumnus and Academy Award winner Troy Kotsur, E-’92, will sign the National Anthem, and another alumnus, Colin Denny, ’19 & G-’23, will perform “America the Beautiful” in ASL and Native American Sign Language. MSSD graduate and current Bowie State University nursing student Justina Miles will perform “Lift Every Voice and Sing” before the game, and will also interpret Rihanna’s halftime performance during the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show.
For many years now, the National Association of the Deaf and the National Football League have collaborated to bring Deaf performers to the Super Bowl. Many Gallaudet alumni have been selected to perform the National Anthem. Last year’s performer was Sandra Mae Frank, ’13. Beginning last year, there are also ASL perfomers during the halftime show. Read more at the NAD website.
