Films on Demand Streaming Videos

Films on Demand is a collection of thousands of captioned, streaming, educational videos, archival films, and newsreels in 30 subject areas. They are accessible to all current Gallaudet students, faculty, and staff.

To open Films on Demand, login to your Gallaudet account and click the link.

To link a video to Blackboard, copy the “Record URL” and paste it into Blackboard.

PLEASE NOTE: Before you use any film with a group, preview it on the equipment and in the location you plan to use.

You can adjust the captions to suit your preferences:

  • On the Films on Demand page, click “My Films.” Create an account if you don’t already have one
  • Log on to your account
  • Click “Welcome, [your name]”
  • Click “My Account Settings”
  • Scroll down to “Caption Settings”
  • Adjust the font size, font family, font color, and background color
  • Scroll down and click “Save Changes”

Digital Theatre+

Digital Theatre+ provides access to over 1000+ high-quality, full-length films of leading theatre productions as well as educational films, educational resources, and lesson plans related to the theatre field.

When you arrive at the Digital Theatre+ website, click “Sign In” then select Gallaudet University from the drop-down menu, and click “Sign in with my institution”. You will have to log on.

Swank Digital Campus

Swank Digital Campus is a streaming video content platform.  SWANK company is a “nontheatrical distributor for most of the major Hollywood studios and many independent, foreign, art-house, and documentary offerings. We currently hold thousands of titles in our library.”

Our license allows us to have 50 films available at any time.  Faculty can request that new titles be swapped via their website’s SWANK request link.  Title swaps will take up to a week to become available.  We are limited to 50 title swaps per license year, October 1-Sept 30.  Unlimited concurrent access is available to all Gallaudet community members, can be shown in classes, and faculty may post video links on Blackboard.

Gallaudet faculty may request access to specific Swank Digital Campus videos. Instructions for faculty requesting videos in Swank can be seen here. Your request will be processed in 2-3 business days. Please be aware that not all videos will have captions.

Psychotherapy.net

Psychotherapy.net provides 50 online videos for teaching and training in psychotherapy, psychology, and more. Videos show therapists conducting therapy sessions, demonstrating clinical skills, and holding pre- and post-session discussions.
