Academics

Taylor Paglieri, ’22, and Hailey Burton, ’22, presented their Honors capstone papers at the American Psychological Association conference last month in Minneapolis. Taylor presented in person, and Hailey presented remotely. They were among a very small number of undergraduate student presenters.

Taylor presented “An Exploration of the Social Networking Site Usage of Middle-Aged and Older Deaf Adults.” A small travel grant from the John and Betty Galvan Fund helped to defray the costs of her attendance at this conference. She is currently pursuing her  Master of Social Work at The Ohio State University.

Hailey presented her Honors capstone, “The Effects of Animal Companionship on Mental Health in Deaf and Hard of Hearing People during COVID-19” at the remote Human-Animal Interaction (APA Division 17, Section 13) student poster session. She is currently working within a school system in Northern California.
