The 2024 U.S. Presidential election is history. Our students voted in large numbers, according to student pledges, thanks to the voter registration campaigns conducted earlier this semester.

Two photos pasted together from the November 5th watch party. The first photo on top shows students in various positions from sitting on the floor, couch, and tables. The bottom photo shows students seated by a large round table signing "VOTE."

On Tuesday evening, November 5, SignVote and the Office of Student Engagement and Leadership hosted a watch party. Over 350 people attended, and Inside Higher Education published two online stories about the event. The first, by four authors, was a survey of election night at nine colleges and universities in four states and the District of Columbia. The second, by Ashley Mowreader, focused solely on Gallaudet and its SignVote program.

In the aftermath of the election, Counseling and Psychological Services held community dialogues on Wednesday and Thursday. President Cordano had breakfast with faculty on November 7, and met with the University Council on November 13. She will meet with other groups, including the Gallaudet Staff Council, in the coming days.

Gallaudet has had strong bipartisan support from Congress since its founding in 1864.
