Communication Studies professor presents at NCA opening session 

Communication Studies professor Marina Dzougoutov was a panelist at the opening session of the 109th annual National Communication Association (NCA) conference yesterday evening at the Gaylord National Harbor Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. This year’s conference theme is “Freedom.”  

The opening session was moderated by Diane Forbes Berthoud of the University of Maryland. Professor Dzougoutov was joined on the panel by faculty members from four other schools: Pallavi Kumar, American University S; Sean Luechtefeld, Johns Hopkins University; Cristal Chanelle Truscott, Northwestern University; and Tia Tyree, Howard University. While other Gallaudet faculty have presented at NCA over the years, Professor Dzougoutov is believed to be the first to present during one of the major conference sessions.
