Faculty and students help kids play in ASL at Camp Discovery

When Professor Dorothy Hamburg founded the Children’s Instructional Summer Camp at Gallaudet in the 1950s, it was one of the first camps in the world for deaf and hard of hearing children. Flash forward 70 years and it is still going as Camp Discovery! Camp Discovery  remains a crucial option for families looking for summer programs in American Sign Language (ASL), according to camp director Vanessa Arp.
