Laureen Obermiller

Hello!  My name is Laureen Obermiller and I grew up with a Deaf family from Michigan.  I graduated from Gallaudet majoring in accounting and am member of Class of 1987.  I work as Budget and Operations Manager for Office of Administration and I also work for another department, Gallaudet Interpreting Service in Peet Hall, room 512.  Primary of my job is budget, deferred maintenance, capital project, payroll and operations.  Before coming here, I worked for Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation for 21 years and now 10 years at Gallaudet.  I am married to Joe Obermiller, who is also member of Class of 1987, majoring in Computer Science.  We have two kids, one hearing daughter, Maurita, who is a graduate student at GWU and one deaf son, Maverick, who is a first year student at RIT.  I am involved with various organization/committee and am usually work as treasurer.  I also am heavily involved with quilt club, attending various retreats and volunteer as quilt mystery instructor.  Now, you know something about me and I look forward to meeting you.
