This retreat was the very first meeting to discuss the Museum’s permanent exhibition, Gallaudet at 150 and Beyond.

On April 4, 2012, a group of consultants and Gallaudet representatives met in Chapel Hall to plan the 2014 Gallaudet University museum exhibition. Leading the all day retreat were museum consultant Mary Case of Qm2, exhibition consultant Dean Krimmel of Creative Museum Services, and independent exhibition design consultant Chuck Mack of Charles Mack Design, Inc.

Joining them were First Lady, Vicki Hurwitz; Provost Stephen Weiner; Museum Director Jane Norman; and along with community representatives for collaboration and brainstorming sessions to establish goals and visions for a permanent exhibition celebrating Gallaudet’s 150 years. There were discussions regarding scope and diversity of content, accessibility, and timelines for projects to create the exhibition. This was when the Gallaudet at 150 and Beyond exhibition was born.
