Course Overview

Professional Practice II is the sequel to INT 736 in the professional practice series. The course design helps students understand the expectations, protocols, and requirements specific to specialized settings as they prepare for their internship placements. Students will critically analyze, discuss, and apply theoretical and practical aspects of interpreting throughout the course. Active engagement with the material, practical exercises, and self-awareness regarding one’s abilities are essential components of this course. The course emphasizes leadership roles within the sign language interpreting field, such as publication, board service, committee involvement, and workshop development, equipping students to transition into professional service successfully.
