In accordance with Gallaudet University’s Student Handbook, all students who live on campus are required to purchase a Meal Plan.

Meal Plan accommodations are available for students with documented medical conditions or significant dietary needs, including food allergies, intolerances, and medically prescribed diets. Accommodations can range from specially prepared meals and access to kitchen facilities to a partial or full waiver of the meal plan.

All accommodation decisions are based on the principle of reasonable accommodation, meaning they cannot fundamentally change the nature of the service or create undue hardship for the university. Please note that financial need is not a factor in granting access to kitchens or meal plan waivers. These accommodations are reserved for documented dietary needs that dining services cannot reasonably accommodate.

The Meal Accommodation Committee is committed to an interactive process with students to understand their specific needs and explore potential accommodations.

Please navigate to the right sidebar for types of requests as well as policies and procedures.
