On Monday, May 24, Gallaudet University and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) signed an Education Partnership Agreement. The signing event included a discussion with President Cordano, Vice Admiral Robert Sharp, and CBS News senior investigative correspondent Catherine Herridge; a Fireside Chat on Diversity and Equity in Analysis in the Intelligence Community with Ms. Herridge and Rita Sampson, director of Equal Employment Opportunity in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence; a webinar, GeoSpectrum — Diversity and Equity in Analysis: Its Role in Humanitarian Crises, which included research project demonstrations by Gallaudet University, Howard University, and University of Central Missouri faculty and NGA staff; and a panel discussion with the Congressman Adam Schiff, Chair of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

This agreement builds on years of collaboration between Gallaudet and NGA and creates further opportunities for Gallaudet students and alumni. To see more about the work deaf people are doing at NGA, read this article about Gallaudet alumna Paula Ayres, ‘95.
