There is a lot going on in and around the Gallaudet University Field House.

The surface parking lot and underground garage behind the Field House are getting a much-needed facelift. This three-phase project seeks to repair and rehabilitate the surface and underground levels. As of early September, two phases were complete.

The terrace at the entrance to the building is being completely made over. Campus Design and Facilities (CDF), which is managing both outdoor projects, announced on September 8 that they will move the construction fence that is currently to the left of the Bison statue so that they can finish installing the other half of the new pavers between September 12 and 19. During this time, visitors will need to walk next to the construction fence and then go around the flower planters to get to the Field House entrance lobby. CDF also noted that there will be construction workers bringing materials in and out of the construction zone from the current bus loading zone. They ask visitors to be alert to prevent accidents. A construction crew member will help to direct pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

Both outdoor projects should be complete by mid-October.

Inside, Padden Court, the main basketball court, has a new look, with stunning art by Isabella Paulone, ’23. Come and be amazed!
