Debate team reaches semifinals at Social Justice Debates Fall Championship

Fresh off its stellar performance at the Saint Ignatius Debates at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, the Gallaudet University debate team excelled again November 12-13 during the Social Justice Debates Fall Championship at George Washington University. According to head coach Brendan Stern, ’06, the team reached the semifinal round. Along the way, they defeated Howard University, the same team that beat them at the Social Justice Debates National Championship last March at Morehouse College in Atlanta. 

Sophomore Lorelei Becktel-Lipscomb won two individual awards: best novice speaker and fifth best speaker.
