
Every year, Gallaudet sends an Annual Report of Achievements (ARA) to Congress. The document is required by the Education of the Deaf Act. It also acts as an annual report for Gallaudet’s accomplishments and evolution during the most recent Fiscal Year (October 1 to September 30).

Gallaudet also offers a growing selection of continuing education courses.
We are continuing to adapt to best practices in modern education. From 2019 to 2024, the number of online classes offered by Gallaudet increased from 311 to 397. The number of hybrid classes increased from 10 to 51.
Accessibility is embedded in our student services. 3,957 class sessions in 2024 had ASL-English interpretation. 1,794 classes had DeafBlind interpretation, and 1,102 had real-time captioning.

Enrollment & Employment
Of Gallaudet’s 1,263 degree-seeking students in 2024…
- 1,035 were full-time students, and 228 were part-time students.
- 812 were undergraduates, and 451 were graduate students.
- 988 identified as Deaf or hard of hearing, and 255 identified as hearing.
47 US states were represented at Gallaudet. The states with the most students:

Gallaudet is the world’s leading institution for Deaf professionals. By the end of FY2024, the university employed 570 deaf and hard of hearing staff members.

Clerc Center and Youth Programs
During the 2023-2024 school year, Gallaudet served 91 students at Kendall Demonstration Elementary School and 139 students at Model Secondary School for the Deaf.
Participation in Gallaudet’s national Youth Programs has greatly increased from 2021 to 2024.
- Participating schools increased from 57 to 70.
- Participating students increased from 218 to 336.
- Battle of the Books participation increased from 254 to 347.
- Summer Youth Camp participation increased from 24 to 140.
The Regional Early Acquisition of Language (REAL) program at Clerc Center continued expanding its reach across the US. In FY2024, the REAL team attended 22 conferences and presented 9 times about early language acquisition for deaf and hard of hearing children.
