Dr. Barbara Stock, a long-time faculty member in the Philosophy program in the School of Arts and Humanities has been invited to participate in the Council of Independent College’s New Currents in Teaching Philosophy Institute July 24-28 in Baltimore. Dr. Stock is one of 30 philosophy professors from across the United States who will take part in this institute. According to CIC, competition for the institute was especially intense this year. According to Dr. Stock’s award letter, Gallaudet University will receive a $1,000 supplemental grant to support new curricular initiatives. The New Currents institute is supported by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, with additional support from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Congratulations!
