Kelsey grew up in southern California, near the beach. She began learning ASL at 16-years old through a community college.
 
She holds B.A. degrees in Deaf Studies and Linguistics from CSUN, and an MS in Deaf Education from McDaniel College. She is NIC Certified. 
 
Kelsey joined GIS as a freelance interpreter in Fall 2012, and became a staff interpreter in August 2016. She loves being a member of and working with the Gallaudet community.
