On Wednesday, September 14, the United Nations Secretariat hosted students, faculty, and staff from the International Development Master of Arts (IDMA) program at United Nations headquarters in New York. in the lead-up to International Week of the Deaf and the International Day of Sign Languages. The Secretariat coordinated a tour of the U.N. building, followed by a presentation on careers with the U.N., including the Young Professionals Programme (YPP) and internship opportunities. To learn more about U.N. careers and the YPP, check out this website.)

The trip to New York and the United Nations was extremely enriching and thought-provoking. It  also provided an opportunity to learn more about the U.N.’s diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility policies and practices. We thank our U.N. partners for their outreach to Gallaudet University and the IDMA and look forward to our next visit
