Jodi Lamask, visual artist and motion...
Jodi Lomask, an artist, interactive motion sculptor, dancer, and artistic director for stage performances, was invited for an Artist Talk and met with students to share her residency details and vision. Having worked for Capacitor events for 20 years, Lomask currently is working on a new collection of large-scale sculptures with an Augmented Reality (AR) component. She is also guiding participants on psychedelic creativity journeys on and off her sculptures, as she believes that her sculptures are not complete without motion. Her portfolio can be found on her website.
Jodi Lomask will give an Artist Talk in the Washburn Arts Center (WAC) entrance lobby on Friday, September 17, at 1 p.m. Eastern Time. Lomask will discuss her journey as an artist, her creative process, and her plans for her new residency at Kennedy Center for Performing Arts.According to Dr. Max Kazamzadeh, professor in the Arts and Media Design Program, Ms. Lomask has been invited to the Kennedy Center for their “Office Hours Residency 2021” from September 19 to 23. She will be there daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and ASL interpreters will be provided during those days from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Students are encouraged to meet with Lomask to develop connections and learn more about her work. Contact Dr. Kazemzadeh to schedule an appointment with Ms. Lomask.
Lomask also will be working with Gallaudet students at the Kennedy Center REACH campus as well as within the TinkerLab to generate some of her creative work during the residency, and will provide daily body motion workshops.
