Academics

Overview

The Gallaudet Dance Company is among the world’s most exciting groups presenting dance with American Sign Language.

The student dancers who make up the troupe discover and develop personal talents and expand their perceptions of self, community, and the world. Some join the company with substantial dance training, while others have no prior dance experience. Similarly, the dancers come from diverse backgrounds and are pursuing different academic tracks. What bonds them is a shared love and passion for dance.

Over our six decades, about 1,000 dancers have performed with the company at venues including the White House, Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, and Egypt’s National Theater of Cairo and on stages from Israel to Korea.

Gifts to support this creative and challenging extracurricular activity are deeply appreciated. For more information about the Gallaudet Dance Company, please contact us.
