Deaf Studies Digital Journal’s NEH Lightning...
The lightning round presentation is a great quick way to learn more about DSDJ!
National National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) invited Dr. H-Dirksen Bauman and Dr. Patrick Boudreault to the 2018 ODH Project Directors Meeting. During a lightning round, they presented about Boudreault’s innovative project, “Exposing the Borders of Academia: Sign Language as a Medium of Knowledge Production, Preservation, and Dissemination” (HAA-258756-18)” and Deaf Studies Digital Journal (DSDJ). They dived into the history and journey of DSDJ and elaborated on the topic of publishing in American Sign Language. Dr. Boudreault explained the necessary means to migrate the issues from the current DSDJ website to the new platform. They will be working closely with Michigan Publishing to ensure that the new platform is accessible and will provide support services for preservation.
[Description:
There are two screens presented side by side in the video. On the left, it is a frame of two people standing on a stage with a podium on their far left. They are giving a presentation and often switch sides and the signer always moves to the right when they present. For the second screen on the right, it is a copy of their PowerPoint that they are presenting on. The PowerPoint has a grey background and consists of two logos on the bottom. The logo for NEH and Gallaudet University.]
