Newly digitized collections ready for researchers
The Gallaudet University Archives is proud to announce the availability of two new digital collections for public use:
The full run of Gallaudet Today, Gallaudet’s alumni magazine, from 1970 to 2018 can be accessed here.
MSS 118: The Sandy White Collection on Segregation of Black Deaf Children in the United States, 1867-1967. This collection was amassed by Sandra White, a Gallaudet TV/Film and Photography department employee in the 1990s during her work to create the “Class of ’’52” video about Louise B. Miller’s fight to ensure that Black Deaf children could receive an education at Kendall School. More information and the collection itself are available here.
These collections are open to the public and free to use; thanks go to Christopher Shea, Collections Archivist, and Samuel Hahn, Digital Archives Specialist, for their months of work to make these collections available.
More collections are due to be digitized in the coming months and years; watch for future announcements.
