A Texas native, Dr. Bobbie Beth Scoggins isthe interim CEO of the National Association of the Deaf. She received a doctoral degree in Institutional Management from Pepperdine University in California. She is also an alumna of California State University, Northridge with a BA degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Administration and Supervision, as well as an honorary degree (Doctor of Humane Letters) from Gallaudet University. She was also a speaker for the 2016 Commencement. Dr. Scoggins previously led the Kentucky Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing from 1993 to 2007, served as the Chief Operating Officer at CSD from 2007 to 2012, and most recently directed statewide outreach services at the Statewide Outreach Center at the Texas School for the Deaf from 2014 to 2024. With her past presidency roles at the USA Deaf Sports Federation and NAD (2006-2012), she has been involved in sports management and policy development advocacy. She served in leadership positions on various boards, in addition to her extensive knowledge in the areas of education and communication access. Dr. Scoggins has been recognized and involved with numerous professional and philanthropic organizations as well. During her youth, she also was an actress. She performed at the National Theatre of the Deaf, several other theaters and a stint on television. Currently, her love focuses on advocacy for babies and toddlers from birth to age 3, as she firmly believes that deaf, deafblind and hard of hearing babies should have equal access to early intervention services. She loves to ride her own Harley.
