Communication skills are key to professional success. A Communication Studies major at Gallaudet University prepares students for careers in public relations, social and digital media, human resources, and marketing. The Center for Black Deaf Studies (CBDS) operates as an outreach center for teaching and learning about the Black Deaf experience and provide easy access to a range of useful content resources.
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX) prohibits discrimination based on gender in educational programs, which receive federal financial assistance. Title IX also protects students and employees from unlawful sexual harassment in school programs and activities.
The Faculty Senate is the decision-making body of the faculty. In developing and maintaining an intellectual climate, we establish requirements for courses of study, admission or transfer, and graduation.
