About

Stacy Nowak's pedagogical interests focus on Deaf student athletes, Deaf sports, Deaf critical theory, classroom pedagogy, and student engagement for Deaf students. Born Deaf into a Deaf family and fluent in American Sign Language (ASL), she holds bachelor's degrees in English and Communication Studies, master's degrees in Deaf Education and Administration and Supervision, and a Ph.D. in Deaf Education.

A passionate advocate for Deaf sports and Deaf women, she has contributed to local, national, and international initiatives. Stacy presents, works and interacts with people bilingually across multiple communication platforms.
