Joel Lucas

In 2013, Joel began his professional career by graduating from Gallaudet University with a Bacherlor's degree in Social Work. Shortly after, he became licensed (LSWA) while working with Deaf senior citizens in Washington, DC. 

In 2016, Joel enrolled in a the Master's Social Work Program at The Catholic University of America.  He gradatued in 2020 and started building his clinical knowledge with trauma-informed therapy.  He achieved a license to practice independently, (LICSW) and became a therapist for survivors of sexual assaul at a local sexual assault crisis center.  This kind of work needed expertise, which he incorporated with using somatic techniques created by professionals such as Dr. Peter Levine and Dr. Daniel Siegel. 

Joel continues to grow his passion for therapy by specializing in those who've experienced a traumatic life event.
