Scott and Shayna show that the Gallaudet experience continues long after graduation. As Deaf mountain climbers and proud alumni, they carry with them the community, confidence, and connection they built on campus.

Reaching New Heights with Gallaudet

When Scott and Shayna look back on their years at Gallaudet, they remember a place that helped them grow in every way. They found an environment where they could discover who they were, connect with people from all backgrounds, and build the communication and leadership skills that guide them today.

After graduation, entering the world of mountaineering was both new and challenging – but the mindset and preparation they gained at Gallaudet gave them the confidence to push forward. They credit the university for offering space to grow, supportive faculty and staff and experiences that shape both academic and personal success.

Today, as trailblazers in the Deaf community, Scott and Shayna continue to inspire others to dream big. Their message is simple: when you aim high, Gallaudet can be part of your ascent.

They’re not just climbers.

They are Gallaudet.
