As a new hire, you are required to complete Section 1 and Section 2 of the federal Form I-9 (Employment Eligibility Verification) within three days of your start date. This federal requirement verifies your identity and your authorization to work in the United States.
Please note that your employment is contingent upon providing acceptable documentation of your work eligibility, and the I-9 verification must be completed no later than three (3) days after your first day of work. Failure to comply with this requirement will result in the immediate termination of your employment, as mandated by federal law.
HOW TO COMPLETE THE I-9 VERIFICATION FORM
There are three (3) steps to complete the two sections of Federal Form I-9. All three steps must be completed within 3 days of your start date. This federal requirement shows your proof of U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work in the U.S. Please refer to the list of Acceptable I-9 Documents to help us verify your employment.
Complete Section 1 of the Form I-9 in Workday.
Meet with Human Resources to complete Section 2 of the Form I-9 (document review and verification). Please bring your original, acceptable, and unexpired documentation to Human Resources in College Hall, Room 106, from Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. No appointment is needed for in-person verification. If you are a remote worker and cannot visit campus, please contact Human Resources as soon as possible to schedule a remote verification appointment.
