Overview

Turn-a-Page-Together (TAPT) is one of the longest-running programs on campus and is the cornerstone of Intercultural Alliances’ offerings.

TAPT provides students, faculty, staff, and alumni the opportunity to come together and discuss books on topics related to the background of an individual, an individual’s experience, and Deaf culture.

The goals of the program are:

  • Foster cross-campus collaboration,
  • Nurture the well-being and self-actualization of Gallaudet staff, faculty, and students,
  • Engage in courageous, sustained, and transformational intergroup dialogues about books pertaining to the culture and background of Deaf people, and
  • Discover intersectional identities of Deaf people and increase multicultural competence.

The books (hard copy or e-books) are FREE for registered participants within the Gallaudet community! Alumni are welcome to participate, but they will have to purchase their own books.
