Overview

The Class of 1974 wanted to create a legacy that would last for generations and benefit the deaf community. They had a vision of creating an endowment to provide financial assistance and develop leadership skills among deaf students. This endowment was established in 2014 as a way to make an impact on the lives of deaf individuals and show appreciation for their unique talents and contributions to society. The endowment is also a way to honor the Class of 1974’s commitment to the deaf community and serves as a reminder of their legacy.

The Class of 1974 Deaf Student Leadership Endowment aims to enable deaf and hard of hearing student leaders to continue their academic pursuits. To qualify for this scholarship, the student must be a junior or senior with a GPA of 2.5 or above. The first preference is for students participating in two or more extracurricular activities. The selected student is a leader of one or more student organizations or continuing to demonstrate leadership skills in the community.
