Course Overview
Ages:
6-12 years
Prerequisites:
Parents are required to be in the pool with the child.
Description:
This class involves no parental involvement. At this age, we feel that children will benefit from the dynamics of a small group and a caring, competent instructor. Children will be asked to challenge themselves by trying new things. The emphasis in this class is on basic water skills such as assisted and unassisted floating, blowing bubbles and retrieving items from the bottom of shallow (4 to 5 foot) area. Listening to instructions and working within a group are stressed along with important water safety lessons. The beginner level class includes activities that build confidence while increasing the child’s comfort and feel for the water. Finally, children will become comfortable swimming underwater.
