About

Actor | Director | Writer | Educator | Interpreter | Translator | Director of Artistic Sign Language

MoMo (both M’s capitalized) is an interdisciplinary theater professional with over three decades of experience spanning stage, film, television, and education. An adoptee raised by Deaf white Mennonite parents, MoMo brings a unique cultural and linguistic perspective to every role. Their name sign—an "M" formed with a horizontal index finger tapped twice on the chin—reflects a proud Deaf identity rooted in community and expression.

MoMo identifies not by heritage alone—Korean, Japanese, and Chinese—but through connection with creatives, storytellers, and those who lead with courage and conviction. Their multifaceted career includes work as an actor, director, writer, coach, consultant, interpreter, and Director of Artistic Sign Language (DASL), with additional contributions in poetry, film, PSAs, and more.

MoMo is a member of multiple professional unions, including the Actors' Equity Association, SAG-AFTRA, Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, the American Association of University Professors, and Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf. As an educator, MoMo takes deep pride in the development of students as artists and thinkers, guiding them to find their voice and trust their process.

MoMo believes in exploration without regret: “If you’re curious, try it. You’ll either love it or learn you don’t. Either way, you grow.”

Open to connection and conversation, MoMo is always ready to support others on their journey of discovery.
