Clinical Instructor, Gallaudet University Hearing and Speech Center
Dr. Andy Lau received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the College of William and Mary before beginning his career in hearing healthcare as an audiometric assistant and hearing instrument specialist. He subsequently earned his Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) from Salus University (now under Drexel University) in 2013.
Dr. Lau has extensive experience in both clinical and academic settings. Prior to his current appointment as a Clinical Instructor at the Gallaudet University Hearing and Speech Center, he served as the lead audiologist for the Pediatric Balance Disorder Program at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children (AIDHC), as an adjunct laboratory instructor at Salus University, and as a faculty audiologist with the University of Oklahoma Physicians Department of Otorhinolaryngology.
His professional expertise includes comprehensive diagnostic audiological assessment, evaluation and management of vestibular and balance disorders, pediatric hearing and balance testing, electrophysiological testing, and the prescription and verification of hearing aid fittings across the lifespan.
As a bilingual provider, Dr. Lau offers clinical services in both English and Cantonese, allowing him to serve a broader patient population with cultural and linguistic sensitivity.
Outside of his professional work, Dr. Lau enjoys photography, visiting museums, and salsa dancing.
