#1 The story of Carolyn Brick: teacher, artist, mother, and one of Gallaudet’s first-ever deaf graduate students
Carolyn Brick was one of the first deaf people ever to get their graduate degree from Gallaudet University back in 1963. Over sixty years later, she returned to campus for Homecoming. Learn more about Carolyn’s amazing legacy as a pioneering student and teacher of the deaf!
#2 Brenda Gutu pursues her PhD and finds herself at Gallaudet

#3 Gallaudet center makes trauma-informed care more available and accessible
Children and young people who experience trauma have a strong ally at Gallaudet. The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Child Resilience Center (DHHCRC) is doing critical research to support mental health care for deaf youth. As they wrap up a five-year grant, the center looks forward to the next chapter.

Alumni Liz Jarashow is the first deaf person to complete the Triple Crown of hiking: the Pacific Crest, Continental Divide, and Appalachian Trails. Her journey is more proof that deaf people can do anything!
