FAQs

Check with the medical facility to see if they participate with your insurance plan. Also, contact your insurance company to confirm coverage at a particular facility. Urgent care centers in DC may accept DC Medicaid but do not accept Medicaid from other states. DC hospital emergency rooms will accept out-of-state Medicaid.
SHS can only give you written documentation that reflects the actual day you were seen in SHS to show your professor. You will need to discuss the circumstances of your class absence with your professor, who will determine whether or not it is an authorized absence.
Yes, give your doctor the local pharmacy’s phone number and address and they can send your prescription to your preferred pharmacy.
Consider getting your refill at Capsule, a local online pharmacy that provides delivery service directly to patients. A friend may also pick up your prescription from a traditional pharmacy like CVS or Giant Pharmacy.

Log in Here with your Galladuet email/password and select I WANT TO WAIVE  (to decline insurance) or I WANT TO ENROLL (to purchase insurance) then follow the instructions presented.

You do not need insurance to be evaluated by SHS staff, but it may be required if your evaluation or treatment involves ordering lab tests, prescription drugs, or a referral to a specialist. Therefore, you should always bring your insurance card when visiting SHS.
There is no additional charge to be seen in SHS. However, if your evaluation or treatment involves lab tests or prescription drugs, you may be billed separately by these providers.
