Gallaudet University played a pivotal role in a recent landmark decision by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to transition from TTYs to a new internet-based, real-time text standard (RTT). RTT is compatible with future smartphones and allows users to instantly see letters, characters, and words as they are being typed.
