Leading the DEAF Inc. Charge
Ernest E. Garrett III, former superintendent of the Missouri School for the Deaf in Fulton, Missouri, was named executive director of DEAF Inc., a nonprofit organization that provides services and support to the deaf and hard of hearing and works to improve interactions with the hearing community.
Garrett was the first deaf superintendent of the Missouri School for the Deaf, serving from 2014 until July 2017. From 2011 to 2014, he served as executive director of the Missouri Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
Garrett earned a master’s degree in administration and social work from Gallaudet University.
