Welcome to the Health and Wellness Programs (HWP), where we are dedicated to enhancing the well-being of our students and fostering a campus community that thrives on holistic wellness.
Our mission is for you to own your story and journey throughout your time as a student here.
At HWP, we understand your experience here is unique to you. Everyone will make their own decisions when it comes to their collegiate experience, and we are here alongside you to make the best out of it. When we recognize that wellness is multidimensional, we can truly focus on becoming whole. HWP is here to offer to be your co-navigators with you on your journey across the eight dimensions of wellness:
Our inclusive, cross-departmental events and initiatives — both digital and in-person — are designed to engage every member of our diverse campus, fostering connections and promoting holistic well-being. By breaking down barriers, we create a space where all can come together to share experiences and insights. Join us in shaping a campus where everyone is informed, supported, and empowered to prioritize personal and community wellness.
Our Peer Health Advocates (PHAs) play a vital role in promoting wellness within the Gallaudet community. As student paraprofessionals, they understand your challenges and work to find and share valuable resources, ensuring you have the tools needed for a successful college experience.

The Health and Wellness Programs is available to provide education, information, and support on health related topics. You can also refer to Student Health Services, the Counseling and Psychological Services, the Title IX Team or any other relevant department or organization.
Health and Wellness Programs’ staff are mandated reporters. Any information shared with us that may indicate a threat to oneself/another, child abuse, or sexual misconduct will be reported to the appropriate unit on campus. We share additional information with others strictly on a need to know basis.
