Course Overview

The emphasis in this course will be on the development and reinforcement of English grammar and vocabulary skills through writing. A grade of IP (In Progress) may be given to any student who has made satisfactory progress but who has not satisfied the requirements for entry into ENG 101. For first-time course takers, this course must be taken along with ENG 50. The requirement for entry into the next level of English is based on the end-of-semester placement test, or End of Semester Portfolio review, led by the CORE Coordinator. In order to qualify to take the placement test, students must receive a passing grade in the course or with permission from the Coordinator.
