Overview

We are excited to welcome everyone who is interested in STEM sign language lexicons – deaf and hard of hearing students who are majoring in STEM, STEM deaf and hard of hearing professionals, K-12 teachers, STEM college professors, interpreters, educational researchers, linguists, anthropologists, and the like!

The Summit will take place over four days (March 2-5, 2024) and will have five broad tracks:

  • Education (both K-12 and higher education)
  • Interpreting in STEM – CEUs will be provided*
  • Development and dissemination of STEM signs
  • Sustainability of STEM sign language lexicons
  • Research by deaf and hard of hearing scientists

*Throughout the entire Summit, it is possible to earn up to roughly 3.0 CEUs, with this total number subject to minor change as the conference date approaches. To cover the RID CEU processing fees and some interpreter costs, you will need to pay an additional $75 to earn these CEUs. The CEUs may be earned via either in-person or online attendance (or a mix of both). You can buy this “CEU Add-On” on our Sched conference website as an additional ticket: https://stemsignlanguagelexiconsumm.sched.com/

We are extending the streaming option for virtual attendance to all four days instead of only Saturday and Sunday. In-person tickets have sold out but virtual attendance tickets are available.  You may register for $50 at this link: registration.  We are not accepting any more abstracts for presentations and posters as the deadline has passed.  If you have questions, please contact STEMsignsSummit@gmail.com.
