Course Overview
This course introduces the essential skills for utilizing lighting, electricity, and other stage technologies. Students will explore the scientific principles of light and its control through electrical theory, applying these concepts to artistry and storytelling across various art forms. Emphasis will be placed on vocabulary, equipment, and practices used in all areas of theatre technology, including lights, sound, and video projections, for mounting a staged production. A required component of this course involves hands-on physical activity related to production needs within and outside class hours, with reasonable accommodations being made for students with any physical limitations.
