Course Overview

A project in the field of the student’s special interest, involving reading, research, discussion, and/or lab work. Title indicating content must be available at registration.

The student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and be in good academic standing at the time of enrollment.

No more than two weeks before the final day of the semester’s add/drop period, the student must submit a proposal outlining the focus of the Independent Study (which must include an overview, objectives, timeline, expected outcomes, and any necessary resources such as equipment, space, and materials). This proposal must be reviewed and approved by the course instructor, who will review the proposed project to ensure its feasibility as well as alignment with the program’s student learning outcomes.
